Updated Surplus Numbers: Actual surplus 2018 per audit was $85,163.
Boards 2011-2018 implemented policies and procedures with specific goals:
stabilize owner fees, achieve maintenance objectives and achieve annual budget surpluses.
Any surplus was retained by the association.
The board elected in fall 2018 decided to increase owner fees, even in view of a large potential surplus

RED indicates the consequences had boards continued the fee policies prior to 2010,
BLUE indicates actual fees. These moderated when better policies and financial controls were put in place by boards
Better budgeting could have resulted in lower fees

ReplyDeleteThe two blogs serve two different purposes. People can choose what they want to read. Perhaps they can get something from each. The new website is okay, but did not overly impress me, but I will give it a chance. Issues concerning the complex have to be addressed at some point. I personally find Norm's blog more interesting and informative, which is what I am looking for. As a side note, I am sure the people who have been writing such mean and negative things on this blog will find the new website their cup of tea. Then maybe we can back to the kind of banter we enjoyed on this blog before the nasty stuff started to play a role.

ReplyDeleteI'm truly starting to believe that the person referencing farts every day is a 12 year old boy that acidentally came across our website. If not, and this waste of oxygen really lives here, we should find out who this person is and warn the Briarcliffe Elementary School down the street to keep their kids away...
ReplyDeleteThe official website was built by me, supported by the Association Board, approved, and all relevant official information is released. It is truly to be informative and a place to easily reach out to management. 'The "official" website is a joke, at best.' Whomever wrote that is incorrect. It exists to provide a good place to retrieve information and read your newsletters.
ReplyDeleteWhoever has a problem with anyone on the board, you should TALK TO THEM and not air out your dirty laundry on the web. Try to work out your differences and talk about your beef. Whining and complaining on the web really accomplishes NOTHING. They probably don't read this blog anyway, therefore your problems go unresolved. Instead, write them an email so they can work things out with you. What a novel concept, eh?
If you want to make suggestions, visit the website for contact info for either the CD or I on the Contact Us page and we can see about adding more content that you want. We would be happy to make some changes that please the population.
Additionally, whomever is talking about farts, FIND SOMETHING ELSE TO DO. GET A JOB, don't waste Norm's time.
