Eventually the Citizens will wake up - Wonder which island Madigan will be basking on?

"Highway to Hell." In a fitting tribute, from the dysfunctional state government of Illinois that can't figure out how to pay it's bills or fund public pensions, we now get this: "SPRINGFIELD, IL — The Eisenhower, the Stevenson and now ... the Obama. Thanks to a joint resolution of the Illinois General Assembly, an 80-mile section of I-55 will be renamed in honor of 44th President Barack Obama. The Barack Obama Presidential Expressway will stretch from the Tri-State Tollway to mile marker 202 near Pontiac...."

Vehicle Burglaries

WHEATON, Ill. – The City of Wheaton has recently experienced an uptick in burglaries to vehicles. In the early morning hours of July 5, 2017 alone there were more than 30 vehicle burglaries. One vehicle was stolen when the criminals discovered the keys. In each of these incidents, the vehicles were left unsecured on the driveway of the residence.

To help curb this ongoing problem and deter criminals, the Wheaton Police Department would like to remind the public of the following crime prevention tips:
  • Always lock your vehicle when it is unattended.
  • Do not leave a spare key inside the vehicle unless it is well-hidden.
  • Do not leave valuables inside the vehicle.
  • Use exterior lights or motion detectors on your property to deter criminals.
  • Report suspicious persons or noises immediately to 9-1-1.

I hope everyone had a good Fourth of July. Great weather, IMHO. Here's something different; a couple of sunset videos I made. We spend some time in MI and we walk to the lakeshore to view the sunset as do many others. However as the park closes at 10:00pm and it is dark, if we decide we will stay to full dark we will drive in. Takes a season pass, which is inexpensive.
