Updated Surplus Numbers: Actual surplus 2018 per audit was $85,163.
Boards 2011-2018 implemented policies and procedures with specific goals:
stabilize owner fees, achieve maintenance objectives and achieve annual budget surpluses.
Any surplus was retained by the association.
The board elected in fall 2018 decided to increase owner fees, even in view of a large potential surplus

RED indicates the consequences had boards continued the fee policies prior to 2010,
BLUE indicates actual fees. These moderated when better policies and financial controls were put in place by boards

BLUE line = alternate, fees, ultimately lower with same association income lower had
boards used better financial controls and focused on long term fee stability

Water Main Break - Plymouth

A water main break was reported this morning.

May 14, 10:45am this Video posted, our plumbers complete repairs and water restored about 10:35am.

May 14, 9:14am Water on Harrow, Plymouth and part of Thames turned off.

May 14, 7:45 am - 9:00am Plymouth, Harrow and parts of Thames notified "door to door" that water will be turned off.

Note 1.  This break occurred after the hydrant flushing of May 11, 2011.

    Yes, there is a cause and effect relationship. Not 1:1 which means I can't say that a line break occurs every time hydrants are flushed. But it seems that a break is a predictable event.

    I'm interested in determining if some of these breaks are preventable. To do so would require more information e.g., what procedures are followed for flushing, etc.
